Fiona Meakin Designs - Draw With Fi

Come along this Wednesday evening from 5 - 7pm at Nexus Art Cafe, Dale Street, Manchester. I'm running a workshop where we wil be experimenting with drawing, collage and text with the emphasis on fairytales/folk stories. Bring along any existing drawings or pictures that interest you and that you don't mind cutting up to make new imagery.

Well, over the past week and a half I have been so busy painting my Rhino for Rhino Mania (Wild in Art) that I've not been able to be a physical presence in Nexus but my research into hair has still been at the forefront of my mind. My project seems to be growing and evolving the more I read and delve into this subject area. I'm currently reading Head to Toe by Joe Orton, have been looking at Rudyard Kipling stories and traditional fairy tales. I will be running a felt making workshop sometime in March (look out for the date on my blog) and this will be linked with story-telling and a sense of community and family. Thanks to everyone who has so far participated in my Drawing Project, 'The Enchanted Box.' I have about 30/40 miniature drawings and I've been delighted, suprised and tickled by your drawings and thoughts on the theme Fairy Tales, please keep them coming...and I will be refreshing the supplies on tables in the cafe next time I'm in...
